A laboratory information management system, or LIMS, is a type of software that is designed to help manage large volumes of data produced from experimental workflows. In its simplest form, a LIMS acts as a tracking system that monitors the lifetime of a given sample as it progresses through various stages of production and characterization.
BioPACIFIC MIP's LIMS was created in order to streamline the collection of data across BioPACIFIC instruments into a singular repository.
In December 2023, the LIMS was re-designed to integrate, in a feed-forward manner, with the BioPACIFIC MIP electronic lab notebook (ELN). This enables linking experimental data to synthesized materials and experimental protocols described in notebook pages, as shown in Fig 1.
